Slayedit New York had the opportunity to meet the first woman who will compete in the prestigious Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada. Invited by Pole Position, we got to witness a historic moment in Canadian racing.
First full-time female driver
“Valerie Chiasson with Porsche Prestige/GT Racing in Platinum Cup. Chiasson, from Repentigny, Quebec, is the first full-season female driver in series history”.
The GT3, sponsored by Porsche Prestige and prepared by Eric Cote’s GT racing, was unveiled May 9th with Valerie on the podium. The sponsorship is in conjunction with Total Canada, Super Decapant, Anibal Automotive Design and L.P.M.
According to Valerie, the new circuits maybe challenging to learn but she is up to the task and is confident that in her ability to master the 4 out of 6 required by the IMSA.
Valerie is also the Canadian Representative on the FIA Commission for Woman in Motorsport to encourage women participation in racing.
