“Rip the Runway” Fashion for a Cause, took Montreal by storm with it’s highly entertaining Fashion Show in support of Mental Illness Awareness. Hosted by Malik Shaheed, Entertainment Reporter, and Catherine Verdon-Diamond of Breakfast Television Montreal, all proceeds were donated to DESTA Black Youth Network.

About Desta Black Youth Network
DESTA is a not-for-profit community-based organization serving marginalized youth, aged 18 to 25 in the Greater Montreal area. Their mission is to mentor these youth in the areas of education, health, personal development, and employment. Through their programs and services, DESTA aims to empower, strengthen authentic identity, and promote excellence in marginalized youth.
About Fashion For A Cause Montreal
Fashion For A Cause Montreal is a non-profit association of professionals creating awareness and raising funds to increase the visibility of local and nationwide causes and charities, for greater impact in the community.
Since its launch Thanksgiving 2012 as a high school/college fashion show reunion in memory of their friend Keith Lewis of Keith & Karen (philanthropist and pioneer of Montreal Entertainment), Rip The Runway Montreal has doubled donation totals while entertaining, educating and giving thanks every Thanksgiving with fashion, live performances and all white memorial. To date, they have produced sold out events attracting: public figures, media, high level entertainment, with a cumulative attendance of 1600 and donations of over $18,500!
Charities and causes are chosen by the stories of survivors, and in memory of those that have passed on. In addition, official donation campaigns are launched during each promotion campaign for those unable to attend, and those looking to donate in addition to their ticket purchase. All ticket sales are donated on behalf of Fashion For A Cause Montreal.
