The Dynasty Foundation has announced the finalists for the 8th edition of The Dynasty Gala. Over a hundred artists, artisans, and personalities from the artistic, cultural, and media fields who belong to the Black Community have been nominated for awards. The award ceremony will take place at the Place des Arts in two parts: the Media Evening, hosted by Naadei, on Sunday, April 21 at the Cinquième Salle, and the Culture Evening, hosted by Garihanna Jean-Louis, on Saturday, April 27 at the Théâtre Maisonneuve. The Dynasty Gala is presented by the TD Bank Group in collaboration with SODEC, and Natyf TV is the official broadcast of the event. Place des Arts is the official host of the event.
This year, there were a record number of applications identified – 673, which is a 49% increase compared to last year. The jury, consisting of 37 independent professionals working in the cultural and media sectors, carried out a thorough analysis of the applications distributed across various categories, under the presidency of Cyrille Ekwalla, a journalist, producer, and founder of Néo Québec. It’s important to note that the nominees were evaluated based on their professional activity carried out between September 1st, 2022, and August 31st, 2023.
“The jury members were delighted to participate in a rigorous selection process that helped us choose outstanding artists and media personalities. I would like to congratulate the entire Foundation team for their hard work and dedication, and I salute the achievements of all the winners,” said Cyrille Ekwalla, the president of the jury.
BLACK CARPET PRESENTED BY BELL
The essential Black Carpet will be back this year during the Culture Evening on April 27 at the Georges-Émile-Lapalme cultural space at Place des Arts. Hosted by Gaël Comtois and broadcast live on the Gala Dynastie Facebook page, the black carpet is an experience glamor where dazzling personalities and guests of honor parade and share their impressions before the prestigious event. We strongly suggest that guests wear colorful clothing with Afro accents, modern and chic to recall the traditional, tribal, and unifying aspect of the theme “Building A Dynasty”.
