The new floating boat café, Canal Lounge, docked by the Lachine Canal walking bridge, is located at 22 Atwater.
To add to the serenity and appeal of the area, this cozy vessel is a nice treat merely 20 feet away from the
Atwater Market’s string of artisanal boutiques and coffee shops.
Casual and modest in size, this novelty café/lounge invites Montrealers and tourists,
alike, to stop by, socialize, drink and enjoy the evening air. To take in the sights further, there is also a
cool and intimate rest area, for four, on the rooftop.
Seating not more than about 50-60 people, it can be a perfect end to a day of shopping or the start of a
fun night out. Alcoholic beverages are served at a modest price and you may even run the chance of
being served by the delightful Dutch proprietor himself, singing along to the theme song of the
‘Loveboat’ and donning an adorable sailor hat.
Bestowing Montreal’s Lachine Canal with a hint of Amsterdam’s enchantment,
this new hot spot soared
in its charm factor but fell short in service,
making this blogger girl’s heart sink a little! That’s why I rate
it a 3.5!
