The last time I felt excited was when I was eight years old, in New York, the day before our first family trip to Six Flags. My sisters and I selected our outfits the night before, and were fully prepared but the excitement was too much for us to sleep. That’s exactly what happened the night before A New Woman Today, I selected my outfit, was fully prepared but was too excited to sleep.
I felt deep down that something magical was going to happen. Olivia Pope always follows her gut, and as an avid Scandal fan, I always follow my gut – and my gut told me that #ANWT was going to be more than a feminist movement.
Fast forward post event, 10:23 pm, my head is buzzing. So much to process. I can’t sleep.

The conference was composed of 20 – 25 minute discussions/presentations of selected panelists.
Among them were:
Each woman conjured magic on the stage. They were brutally honest and had one thing in common: “authenticity”.
They made me want to yell:
“Frigg, I’m a W-O-M-A-N and I’m powerful babbbyyy”!
A New Woman Today Conference is about Empowerment
The energy in the room was a palpable. There was life, there was gestation, there was community, there was love. And for those eight hours, we were citizens of our own planet. Nurturing each other, smiling at each other, and mostly – encouraging each other.
#ANWT can be defined as a conference to energize, replenish and uplift. Leaving the gathering – I walked with my feet in the clouds.
Congratulations to the team, volunteers, Nabila Sofia Echadl, a woman I know as @coachsofia on Instagram; and to each and every woman who was present:
“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until
