Celebrating Montreal Businesses, Entrepreneurs and Influencers: Aleksandar Taksev

I met Aleksandar Taksev through an acquaintance heavily involved in the fashion industry a few years ago. My goal was to find a simple gown to walk down the red carpet of an award show, what I found instead, was a talented designer and friend. Aleksander is so humble, but celebrities around the world wear his designs and become repeat customers. I am proud to know this creative mind, thank you for everything you have done for Montreal Aleks.

Now, here’s Aleksander’s story.

Petrona: What is your official title?

Aleksandar: Company Partner & VP, responsible for all design, corporate image, and advertising of The Alexander Collection by Daymor.

Petrona: What is your greatest passion? Did that fuel you to get started?

Aleksandar: Creativity and various channels of artistic expression were always present throughout my early life. However, it’s not until my late teens that I was able to focus and garner that creativity. I have come to enjoy and love what I do, so much so that over the past 20 years, it has become my greatest passion.

Petrona: What is the message you wish to convey to the world? In other words, how do you want to be remembered?

Aleksandar: One of the most fulfilling and gratifying aspects of what I do is the knowledge that women choose our collection when selecting a dress for their special occasion! Whether it be a gala or a wedding day, it is an honor to know that I have been able to contribute to them looking and feeling beautiful for their event!
Petrona: Describe your business, service, or mission.

Aleksandar: Established in 1951 in Montreal, Daymor is an industry leader. The company has made its mark in delivering collections that embody the spirit of classic elegance and refinement, while providing unrivaled customer care to retailers in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Petrona: What is your biggest quirk?

Aleksandar: Well, I am a big hugger so you can imagine 2020 has left me pretty empty-handed.

Petrona: What has been your biggest challenge in business?

Aleksandar: 2020 has been an extremely challenging year on so many levels, but I am confident that 2021 will serve as a reset year, that will slowly bring us good health and prosperity.

Petrona: What’s next for your business or for you?

Aleksandar: Icon by Alexander – My exciting new bridal collection set to debut for Fall 2021!

Petrona: What advice would give to someone reading this?
