Here’s Laura‘s story.

Petrona: What is your official title?

Laura Wizman: I wear many hats, Entrepreneur, New Mama to my now seven-month-old Chloé Liza, Encourager (my preferred word for my role as an Influence Marketer), Partner at SPINCO Montreal, Social Media strategy for Deux par Deux Kids.

Petrona: What is your greatest passion? Did that fuel you to get started?

Laura Wizman: My greatest passion has always been to connect with others, create a strong sense of community, inspire, and encourage through sharing my own journey, both personal and professional through my social platforms. My passions have absolutely driven me to get started and fueled me to grow to where I am today. My entrepreneurial journey has been filled with constant change, and change is something I have grown to love. With this fire inside of me, I have taken the leap from a career in a marketing agency to a non-profit, and now to working for myself.

Petrona: What is the message you wish to convey to the world? In other words, how do you want to be remembered?

Laura Wizman: As someone who has always strived to reach her dreams, not afraid to leap and take risks, and does not fit into a box, I want to show the world that with the right mindset, you have the ability to create your best life. Every day you are given the chance to change your outcome. Happiness is an inside job and something we should strive for.

I want to be remembered as a woman who showed up for others with light and love. I also want to show my daughter that she can achieve her dreams. I want her to remember her fearless mama who overcame and conquered her fears.

Petrona: Describe your business, service, or mission.

Laura Wizman: LauraWizman.com, coming out soon, is a platform to encourage and inspire a community of women to take ownership of their own happiness and put in the work to turn their dreams into a reality.

In addition, at SPINCO Montreal, we offer full-body spin classes designed to strengthen the body, energize the mind, and feed the soul. Located in the heart of old Montreal, we opened our doors in January 2018 and have built a strong passionate community who show up and ride with love, for themselves and each other.

And lastly, Deux par Deux Kids is a diverse and unique children’s clothing line, that ranges from 3 months to 12 years old. This is actually my husband’s family business. Fun fact – once upon a time we merged forces and worked together full time for 2 years, lol.

Petrona: What is your biggest quirk?

Laura Wizman: Maybe not a quirk, but I have actually never eaten any meat or chicken in my entire life… people seem to be shocked every single time.

Petrona: What has been your biggest challenge in business?

Laura Wizman: Work-life balance. Especially now, adding motherhood to the mix. I am learning and adapting every day to find my groove. I am also someone who fully dives into my projects and that means that I sometimes forget to balance it all out. I have to constantly remind myself that I am a new mom and that patience and delegation, with my business, are all part of the process. When you take the time to refuel, you show up stronger for your work and and everyone else around you.

Petrona: What’s next for your business or for you?

Laura Wizman: I will be launching my website and blog soon – taking my community a little bit deeper into my world. Lots coming your way through this platform, including online events and more. Over the past 3 months, I have also worked and collaborated with Deux par Deux Kids on helping design the baby girl’s Fall-Winter collection for 2021. I cannot wait to see it come to fruition.

Petrona: What advice would give to someone reading this?

Laura Wizman: Couldn’t help but divide this into three:

1. It is never too late to start working towards your dream. Please know that you are not late, you are not too old, you are not behind schedule, you did not miss the bus – there is not a destined timeline. You can always begin, wherever you are.

2. Realize that there is abundance in every field, shift your mindset to abundance, don’t let the fear of a saturated market, or anything else hold you back from diving right in.

3. Don’t compare yourself to others and let go of the fear of judgment – because no one is YOU and that is your power.

Petrona: What is your favorite quote?
